This year (2009) is to be the last Farm Life Festival unless they can find sponsorship and/or grant money to continue the event. Other then the Parlett family opening up their wonderful farm and living history to the public, the proceeds of the event sponsor the Christmas In April Event. It will be a real shame to lose the support for CIA and the event in general. People will real legitimate ideas or grant awarders should contact the organizers to keep it going. I know times are tight but we cannot afford to lose our history.

Thanks for all the information on the different kinds of tax credit. Now I know that it doesn't only apply to people buying new homes. Looking forward to your future posts,

We are considering planting some wine producing grapes on our hill. Can you suggest any books or references relating to preparing the soil prior to grape growing? Our house has a slope which reminds us of the Missouri vineyards and Greek vinyards which we have enjoyed and visited many times. We would like to know if grape growing is a possibility for our bayside hill in Calvert County.

Thanks for your post...it is such an exciting time for Maryland Wine. This Wednesday, a bill will be heard in Annapolis, regarding direct shipping. If this bill is passed, it will no longer be a felony to have our favorite MD wines, as well as out of state wines shipped to the state of Maryland! To learn more about the bill, and to find out how to help, check out this facebook page: http://apps.facebook.com/causes/219249

Cheers!
